In this course Bachelor Information Science students setup and execute a research project exploring an Information Science related research topic under guidance of a researcher. The project results in a bachelor thesis, published in the UvA thesis database. The thesis project runs in period 2/3 as well as in period 5/6.

Sander is a lecturer who is interesting in exploring how a distributed nature affects our infrastructure. A middleware perspective is taken. In the development of Critical Cyber Infrastructure, exploring adaptivity is a key- aspect. My research interest focuses on enabling adaptation is on dynamic complex systems, for multi-layered systems. particularly on structures and processes. For designing for change both structure and process, knowledge needs to be made explicit and to support local adaptations.
