I am currently pursuing a PhD in Responsible AI for Finance. I joined the CCI group in November 2025 under the supervision of Sander Klous, Erik Winands, Erman Acar, Ana Oprescu, and Saba Amiri. My research focuses on developing understandable, fair, and compliant AI systems for the finance domain. In particular, we aim to address the interpretability gap between large AI models and the explainability requirements needed to safely deploy these models in financial applications.
I completed both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Amsterdam, specializing in interpretability for AI systems. For my BSc thesis, I worked on post-hoc explainability methods for fraud detection. For my master’s thesis, I focused on mechanistic interpretability for symbolic regression models, where I explored the concept of circuit discovery in this novel domain.
